“Arts and cultural wisdom heritage: the science of management, increasing value of products or cultural services, uplifting community economy and local wisdom heritage value, connecting networks and strengthening area development mechanisms, leading to sustainable development.”
The curriculum was developed in response to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), the 20-Year Cultural Strategy, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It emphasizes teaching students comprehensive knowledge of arts with awareness of cultural value and creative wisdom heritage, covering both breadth and depth, enabling creative and sustainable cultural development.
The curriculum is connected to the UNESCO Creative Cities Networks (UCCN) Sukhothai as a City of Crafts and Folk Art, and the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC). It emphasizes the application of cultural capital and local wisdom, creating unity between universal disciplinary standards and specific local cultural contexts, through creative works or innovations that appropriately reflect local identity.
